Schema markup (JSON-LD) generator
Choose a type, fill in the fields and copy ready-to-paste JSON-LD for your page. Each field is marked required, recommended or optional following Google's structured-data guidelines, and dates, prices, addresses and durations are validated as you type.
Google now shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites, but the markup is still valid and other search and AI tools read it.

Paste the script block into the <head> or <body> of the page it describes. Everything in it should also be visible on that page.

How it works
- •Pick the type that matches the page: FAQ, article, product, local business, organization, breadcrumbs, how-to or software app. A short note explains what Google needs for that type.
- •Fill in the fields. Red “required” fields are the ones Google asks for; amber “recommended” ones improve eligibility. FAQ, breadcrumbs and how-to steps are added row by row.
- •Copy the script block into the page, then test it with Google's Rich Results Test (the link opens Google's own tool).
What it does and what it cannot do
- •Markup describes what is on the page. Google can penalise markup for content that visitors cannot see, so do not add fake reviews, prices or questions.
- •Valid markup does not guarantee a rich result. Google chooses whether to show it. FAQ rich results are limited to well-known government and health sites, and How-to rich results were retired in 2023.
- •Eight common types are covered. Other schema.org types, extra properties and reviews are not built here; you can edit the JSON by hand.
- •Field requirements follow Google Search Central at the time of writing and change from time to time. The Rich Results Test is the final judge.
Questions
- What is JSON-LD?
- JSON-LD is a block of structured data, written in a script tag, that describes a page in the vocabulary of schema.org. Google recommends it over older formats like microdata because you can keep it apart from the visible HTML.
- Where do I paste the code?
- Anywhere in the page's <head> or <body>. Put it on the page it describes. Product markup goes on the product page, not the home page.
- Why is a field marked required?
- Required means Google will not consider that page for the matching rich result without it. Recommended fields are optional but make the result richer and more accurate.
- Will adding schema improve my rankings?
- Not directly. It helps search engines and AI tools understand the page, and it can make you eligible for richer results, which tends to raise clicks.
- How do I price a free app?
- Set the price to 0 and add a currency. Google needs the offers price for software apps even when the app is free.
- How do I test it?
- Open Google's Rich Results Test, choose the code tab, paste the output and run it. The schema.org validator is a good second check.
