App Store screenshot sizes: check and resize

For iPhone you need at least one screenshot at 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels (iPhone with Dynamic Island, medium display), in portrait or the landscape versions. If your app runs on iPad, add at least one at 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 (iPad 13-inch). Each display size takes 1 to 10 PNG or JPEG files with no alpha channel. Drop your screenshots below to check them, then make correctly sized copies in your browser.

1. Check my screenshots

Drop your screenshots here

PNG or JPEG, up to 40 files. They are read by this page only and never uploaded.

Add screenshots to see which App Store display sizes they fit.

2. Make accepted sizes

Sizes to make

  • 1320 × 2868 · iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display)
  • 1206 × 2622 · iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)

Apple requires at least one iPhone set for Dynamic Island (medium display): 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556. 1320 × 2868 is the largest iPhone size (iPhone 17 Pro Max and similar). If your screens look the same on every iPhone, one large set can be scaled down by App Store Connect; both are selected here so you have a file for each slot.

When the shape differs

Covers the whole frame and trims the edges that do not fit, evenly from both sides.

Save as

Add screenshots above first, then choose the sizes to make.

3. Every accepted screenshot size

Checked against Apple's Screenshot specifications page on 2026-10-30. Open Apple's page

1 to 10 screenshots per display size, as .png, .jpg or .jpeg, with no alpha channel or transparency.

Use the same size for every language of the app.

How it works

  • •Each file is compared with every size on Apple's list. 1320 × 2868, for example, is accepted for iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display) in portrait, and 2868 × 1320 is the same display in landscape. 2048 × 2732 counts for both the iPad 13-inch and the 12.9-inch slots.
  • •A size that matches nothing gets the closest accepted sizes by shape and how much would be cropped or padded. 1200 × 2600 has exactly the shape of 1080 × 2340, so it only needs scaling; 1000 × 2000 is closest to 1284 × 2778 and loses about 7.6% of the picture.
  • •PNG files are read byte by byte for an alpha channel (colour types 4 and 6) or a transparent colour (a tRNS chunk). Apple refuses the channel itself, even when every pixel is opaque, which is common in exports from design tools.
  • •Make accepted sizes draws each image on a canvas of the exact target size. Fill and crop covers the frame and trims the overflow evenly; Fit with background shows the whole image and fills the rest with your colour.
  • •PNG output is written by this page as 8-bit RGB with no alpha channel at all; JPEG has none by nature. One file downloads on its own, or all of them come as a ZIP with a folder per size.
  • •Nothing is uploaded: reading, resizing and building the ZIP all happen in your browser.

What it does not do

  • •It does not add device frames, captions or backgrounds yet. It only checks and resizes the images you give it.
  • •It does not check what your screenshots show against the App Store Review Guidelines, for example whether they show the app in use.
  • •Enlarging a small capture to a large size makes it soft. Start from a capture at or above the target size when you can.
  • •Apple changes these sizes when new devices come out. The table was checked against Apple's Screenshot specifications page on 2026-10-30; look at Apple's page before an important release.
  • •It does not check colour profiles or file size, and it does not check app preview videos.

Questions

Which App Store screenshot sizes are required?
For iPhone, at least one screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display): 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 in portrait, or 2622 × 1206 or 2556 × 1179 in landscape. If your app runs on iPad, at least one for the iPad 13-inch display: 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch apps need screenshots for that platform. From April 2027, apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later also need iPhone Duo screenshots.
Can I upload only the largest size?
Yes, when your app looks the same on every device size and language. Apple says you then only need screenshots for the highest required resolution, and App Store Connect scales them down for smaller displays. Upload separate sets only when the layouts really differ.
Why was my PNG screenshot rejected?
Most often because it has an alpha channel or transparency. App Store Connect accepts neither, even if nothing in the picture is see-through: the RGBA format alone is enough. Drop the file here to check it, then use Make accepted sizes, which writes RGB PNGs with no alpha channel, or save it as JPEG.
How many screenshots can I upload?
At least 1 and up to 10 for each display size, in .png, .jpg or .jpeg. The checker on this page warns when more than 10 of your files fit the same display size.
What size are Mac App Store screenshots?
16:10 landscape, one of 1280 × 800, 1440 × 900, 2560 × 1600 or 2880 × 1800 pixels. They are required for Mac apps. Portrait sizes are not accepted, so pad or crop a tall window to one of these.
What are the iPad 13-inch screenshot sizes?
2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 in portrait, 2752 × 2064 or 2732 × 2048 in landscape. They are required if your app runs on iPad. 2048 × 2732 is also the 12.9-inch size, and the smaller iPad slots use scaled copies of the 13-inch set when you do not give them their own.
