Resize and crop images to an exact size
Drop up to 20 images, choose an exact size, a percentage, a maximum box or a fill-and-crop shape, and save them as PNG, JPEG or WebP. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device.
Drop images here
Up to 20 images, 50 MB each. JPEG, PNG, WebP and other formats your browser can open. Nothing is uploaded: the work happens in this tab.
Add an image to see the new size for each one. The settings above already apply.
Saved files hold the picture only. Embedded data such as camera model and GPS location is not kept. Photos are saved the right way up, following their orientation tag.
How it works
- •Exact size sets the width and height in pixels. With “Keep proportions” on, type one side and the other follows: a 3000 × 2000 photo at 1000 wide becomes 1000 × 667.
- •Fit within a box shrinks each image until it fits a maximum width and height without changing its shape: 4000 × 3000 inside 1920 × 1080 becomes 1440 × 1080.
- •Fill and crop covers an exact size and cuts off what does not fit. Drag the frame to choose what stays: 4000 × 3000 filled to 1080 × 1080 keeps a 3000 × 3000 block, centred until you move it.
- •Pictures are not enlarged unless you tick “Allow enlarging”: an 800 × 600 photo asked for 1600 wide stays 800 × 600. Enlarging makes a bigger picture but adds no detail.
- •Large reductions are done in halving passes before the last draw. Drawing a 6000 px wide photo straight down to 200 px skips most of its pixels and leaves jagged edges, so it is first halved to 3000, 1500, 750 and 375 px, then drawn at 200 px: five passes in all.
- •Saved files contain the picture only. Camera model, GPS location and other embedded data are not kept, and photos are saved the right way up.
Questions
- Does this upload my images?
- No. Your browser opens, resizes and saves the images itself. Nothing is sent to a server, and the tool keeps working with your connection off once the page has loaded.
- What are the limits?
- Up to 20 images at a time, 50 MB per file, 16,384 pixels on a side and 100 megapixels for both the original and the result. Anything over a limit is skipped with a message.
- Why is my result smaller than the size I asked for?
- Because enlarging is off. To avoid a blurry result the picture is kept at the largest size it can reach without being stretched. Tick “Allow enlarging” if you need the exact size anyway.
- Will it keep transparency and the photo's orientation?
- PNG and WebP keep transparent areas. JPEG cannot, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick. Photos that are rotated by a tag, as many phone photos are, are saved the right way up.
