Compress and convert images, privately
Drop up to 30 images, pick a format and a quality, and see the new size straight away. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device.

JPEG, PNG, WebP or AVIF (HEIC where your browser can open it). Nothing is uploaded: the work happens in this page.
Saved copies carry no location or camera data, and phone photos keep their upright orientation.
How to get a smaller file
- •WebP is the safe default: it is much smaller than JPEG and works in every current browser. AVIF is smaller still, but not every browser can save it, so the option only appears where it works.
- •Quality 75 to 85 is the sweet spot for photos. Below about 60 you start to see blocky areas.
- •Photos from a phone or camera are often far bigger than a screen needs. Limiting the longest side to 1920 or 1280 pixels usually saves more than any quality setting.
- •Saved copies carry no location or camera data, because the picture is redrawn from scratch.
Questions
- Does this upload my images?
- No. Your browser opens, resizes and saves the images itself. Nothing is sent to a server, and the tool keeps working with your connection off once the page has loaded.
- Why is the result sometimes bigger than the original?
- Files that were already well compressed, or small PNG graphics, can grow when saved again. The tool tells you when that happens so you can keep the original.
- Does it remove location data?
- Yes, as a side effect: the new file is drawn from the pixels only. If you only want to remove the hidden data and keep the file exactly as it is, use the EXIF tool.
- What about large batches or HEIC photos?
- This page is meant for a handful of images. For whole folders, HEIC photos and settings you can save, the Mac app QuickPix does it offline.
