App Store screenshot generator

Drop up to 10 screenshots from the simulator or your device, write a headline for each, pick a background and an outline, and download every image at the exact sizes App Store Connect accepts: 1320 × 2868 and 1206 × 2622 for iPhone, plus iPad 13-inch and Mac 16:10 if you need them. The PNGs have no alpha channel, so App Store Connect takes them as they are. It all runs in this page; your screenshots are never uploaded.

1. Your screenshots

Drop your app screenshots here

1 to 10 PNG or JPEG captures, ideally straight from the simulator or a device. They stay in this page and are never uploaded.

Add screenshots to start. Each one becomes one App Store image with your headline above or below it.

3. Sizes and download

Sizes to make

The two iPhone sizes are ticked to start: 1206 × 2622 covers the iPhone size Apple requires, 1320 × 2868 is the largest iPhone size. Add iPad 13-inch if your app runs on iPad, and a Mac size for Mac apps. Check or resize existing screenshots

How it works

  • •Each screenshot gets its own headline and subheadline. Style (background, text position and colour, outline, size and position of the screenshot) can be set for one image and copied to all of them with one button.
  • •Headlines wrap and shrink until they fit their area. English and other spaced languages break at spaces; Chinese, Japanese and Korean break between characters, and closing punctuation such as 。 or ) never starts a line.
  • •The screenshot keeps its own shape inside the outline: it is scaled, never stretched or cropped, and only its corners are rounded to match the screen.
  • •The layout is worked out from each output size, so a 1320 × 2868 iPhone image and a 2880 × 1800 Mac image get the same look in their own proportions.
  • •Text is drawn with your device's own system font. PNGs are written as plain RGB with no alpha channel; JPEG is offered for smaller files. The ZIP has one folder per size, as App Store Connect expects.

What it does not do

  • •No Apple bezels. The outline is a generic rounded phone, tablet or laptop shape drawn by this page. Apple's official device images are available from Apple Design Resources under Apple's own terms, and you can use them in your own design app if you want them.
  • •It does not translate your text. For another language, change the headlines and make the set again.
  • •It does not upload anything to App Store Connect. You download the ZIP and drag each folder in yourself.
  • •It does not take screenshots of your app or check what they show. Capture them in the simulator or on a device first.
  • •Fonts are the ones already on your computer or phone, so the same headline can look slightly different on another machine. Make the final set on the computer you will upload from.
  • •Up to 10 screenshots per set, the most App Store Connect takes for one display size.

Questions

Do App Store screenshots have to show the app in use?
Yes. App Review Guideline 2.3.3 says screenshots should show the app in use, not only title art, login pages or splash screens. A headline and a background around a real screen are fine and common; a picture that is mostly marketing text with no real screen is the kind that gets rejected. Our guide to 2.3.3 rejections is linked under Related.
Which sizes should I make?
For iPhone, Apple requires the medium Dynamic Island size (1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 in portrait). 1320 × 2868 is the largest iPhone size. If your app runs on iPad, add iPad 13-inch (2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732). Mac apps need one of the 16:10 sizes, 1280 × 800 up to 2880 × 1800.
Can I add text in Chinese or Japanese?
Yes. Headlines can be in any language your device has a font for. Chinese, Japanese and Korean wrap between characters, mixed lines like 支持 iCloud 同步 keep the English word whole, and punctuation stays on the right line.
Why are the PNGs not transparent?
App Store Connect refuses screenshots with an alpha channel or any transparency, even when nothing in the picture is see-through. So every image here has a solid background, and the PNG file is written as plain RGB without an alpha channel.
How many screenshots can I upload?
From 1 to 10 for each display size, as PNG or JPEG. The first three are the ones people see in search results, so put the clearest screens and headlines first. The numbers at the start of each file name keep them in the order you set.
Can I upload only the largest size?
Often, yes. Apple says that when your app looks the same on every device size, you only need the highest required resolution and App Store Connect scales it down for smaller displays. On iPhone, the required medium Dynamic Island slot takes its own set or, when it has none, scaled copies of the Face ID large display set (1284 × 2778 or 1242 × 2688). Our screenshot sizes page lists which display falls back to which.
