About
Twinsift finds the near-duplicate photos hiding in every big folder — burst-mode siblings, re-exports, and slightly different exposures of the same frame — and lets you clear them out in minutes, entirely on your Mac.
Drop in a folder and Twinsift scans it with Apple's on-device Vision framework, no upload, no account, no internet required. Matching photos are grouped into pairs and shown side by side with a similarity score, so you always know why two shots were matched.
Review is built for speed: press J and K to move between pairs, D to mark the weaker copy, F to flip which side is marked, S to skip a pair you want to keep both of, and Enter when you're done. Every decision is staged — nothing touches disk until you confirm a final scrollable list, and even then photos go to the ordinary macOS Trash, fully recoverable until you empty it.
Scanning and review are unlimited on every folder, every time. A single one-time unlock enables the final purge step — no subscription, no account, no nag screens.
Why people keep Twinsift around:
- On-device perceptual matching — your photos never leave your Mac
- Quality-aware pairing suggests which copy looks sharper and higher-resolution
- Keyboard-first review flow for clearing hundreds of pairs quickly
- Staged deletes with a final confirm list — pull anything back out before committing
- Deletes go to the macOS Trash, not gone for good
- One-time purchase, no account, no subscription
