THE WORDS THAT MATTER MOST You don't need 200,000 words to speak English well. You need the right ones. Minimalist Dictionary focuses on the 5,000 words you will see and hear most often, chosen from well-known CEFR word lists and sorted by how common they are. THREE LEVELS Pick the level that fits you, and the wheel shows only those words: - Basic (A1–A2): 1,500 everyday words - Intermediate (B1–B2): 2,000 words for work, study and travel - Advanced (C1): 1,500 words for fluent reading and writing Switch levels any time in Settings. CLEAR DEFINITIONS Every definition is written in plain English, at the level of the word. No long entries, no confusing grammar notes. Each word comes with an example sentence that shows how it is used in real life. HEAR IT, SAY IT Every word has its American English pronunciation in IPA. Tap to hear it spoken with your iPhone's built-in voice, even in silent mode. SEARCH Know the word you want? Type it and go straight to it. WORKS OFFLINE All 5,000 words are inside the app. No internet connection, no account, no sign-up. Use it on a plane, on the subway or anywhere else.
