Marimoshi: Moss Ball — App Store rankings

About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

In Japan, a moss ball is given to someone you care about, as a charm. Marimoshi brings that small tradition to your phone: a little green creature to name, to look after, and to visit every morning. Your aquarium is always open. Light drifts through the water, sand settles, and your moss ball wanders at its own pace. Morning is your morning and night is your night — the tank follows the real sky, and keeps living while you're away. A MINUTE OF CARE A DAY It needs four small things: clean water, light, food and a little love. Each one is a single tap. Stopping by once a day is enough — Marimoshi is never fast, loud or demanding. A CARD EVERY MORNING Every morning you've cared for it, your moss ball opens today's card for you. It's drawn from its mood, the season and the days you've spent together — a few quiet words that belong to your morning alone. Share it with one tap, if you want to. A WISH ONLY YOU KNOW Write down a wish and hand it to your moss ball. It keeps it for seven days. It never reads it, repeats it or comments on it — it simply keeps it. What you write never leaves your device: nothing is sent anywhere, nothing is stored anywhere. After seven days your wish is released and you can make a new one. PASS ONE ON Care for it regularly and your moss ball multiplies. The sprout can't be kept for yourself — it's only ever given away. It becomes your friend's first moss ball, and it always carries where it came from. IT GROWS SLOWLY Like a real marimo, it grows too quietly to notice day to day. You'll only see it weeks later, when you put an old share card next to a new one. IT NEVER GETS SICK, IT NEVER DIES Stay away a few days and it just looks faded. No guilt-trip notifications, no lost progress, no starting over. It's still there when you come back. QUIET, AND YOURS Two notifications a day at most. No account, no sign-in, no friend list, no ads. Your moss ball, your wish and your cards stay on your device. In five languages: Türkçe, English, Deutsch, Español, 日本語. You can switch language inside the app at any time. Marimoshi is for entertainment purposes only.
