CroDB is a native macOS client for MySQL and PostgreSQL. It opens instantly, stays out of your way, and takes production seriously: every write is checked before it reaches the server, and nothing about your databases leaves your Mac. CONNECT THE WAY YOU ALREADY DO • MySQL 5.7 and 8.x, PostgreSQL 14 through 18 • TCP/IP or Unix socket, with TLS modes for both engines, from disabled up to full certificate and host-name verification • SSH tunnels with password or private-key authentication; local ports are chosen automatically • Passwords and SSH secrets are kept in the macOS Keychain, never in plain-text files • Paste a mysql:// or postgresql:// URL to fill in a connection, or copy one out • Folders, color tags and environment labels (Local, Development, Testing, Staging, Production) keep dozens of servers organized • Read-only connections refuse writes on the client before anything is sent BROWSE AND SEARCH • Databases, schemas, tables, views, materialized views, procedures, functions, triggers, events and sequences in one sidebar • Quick Query (⌘K) jumps to any connection, table, saved query or command • One-click actions: open data, design table, query the first 100 rows, show DDL, generate SQL WORK WITH DATA LIKE A SPREADSHEET • Paged grid with filter conditions, sorting, row counts and remembered column layouts • Edit cells inline or in a dedicated editor for text, JSON, hex and images, with an explicit SQL NULL switch • Add and delete rows, paste blocks of cells from the clipboard, undo edits before they are applied • Review the exact INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements before they are committed • Copy selections as tab-separated text, CSV, JSON, Markdown or INSERT statements • Find in results with ⌘F A SQL EDITOR THAT KEEPS ITS SESSION • Syntax highlighting, autocomplete, formatting (⌥⌘L), line numbers and comment toggling • Run the current statement, the selection or everything; stop long queries with ⌘. • Every tab keeps its own server session, so BEGIN, SET, temporary tables and session variables persist between runs • Begin, Commit and Rollback controls with live transaction state • Multiple result sets, a Messages panel for warnings and notices, and EXPLAIN • Query history, favorite queries and drafts that come back after a restart DESIGN TABLES WITHOUT WRITING DDL • Fields, indexes, foreign keys, check constraints, triggers and table options in one designer • Create tables, rename them and change column types, with USING casts on PostgreSQL • Every change is shown as the statements it will run before you save IMPORT AND EXPORT AT ANY SIZE • Export the displayed rows or every row as CSV, TSV, JSON, SQL INSERT or Markdown; whole-table exports stream from the server • Import CSV with encoding detection, field mapping, batch sizes and conflict handling: ignore, update or replace on MySQL, ON CONFLICT on PostgreSQL • Choose to stop and roll back on the first error, or skip failed batches and see which rows they held • Transfers run in the background with progress and cancel BUILT FOR PRODUCTION • Dangerous SQL detection: UPDATE or DELETE without WHERE, DROP, TRUNCATE, ALTER … DROP, SET GLOBAL, SELECT INTO OUTFILE, and writes hidden inside WITH clauses or subqueries • The confirmation sheet shows the statement, the connection, the database and the environment; on production you type the database name to proceed • Maximum affected-row limits roll back changes that go too far • Production connections always use delayed commit • Warnings before closing a tab, a window or the app while transactions are open or transfers are running PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads • Connection profiles, history and drafts are stored only on your Mac • Sandboxed, and reads only the files you choose Also: multiple windows (⇧⌘N) with window and tab restoration, light and dark appearance, and an interface in English, Simplified Chinese and Portuguese.
