About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Times tables, spelling, column math, telling time and money: Lalo Academy brings together 12 educational games for elementary school, made for kids aged 6 to 9 (1st, 2nd and 3rd grade). Five minutes a day is enough: Lalo remembers every mistake and brings it back at the right moment, until your child really knows it. Lalo, the pencil with glasses, becomes your child's study buddy: no random drills, no timer on the screen, no ads. Just the math and spelling of the early grades, explained calmly and reviewed with a method. WHAT YOUR CHILD LEARNS • Times tables — multiplication facts from the 2s to the 10s, in the order schools teach them. Your child types the answer on a keypad instead of picking from choices, so the times tables are learned, not guessed. Blitz mode mixes them all up for quick review. • Spelling — a natural, recorded human voice says the word. First your child taps the right spelling out of three, then types it alone. Practice covers real English spelling patterns: double letters, silent letters (kn, wr, mb), th, long vowels (ee, oo), ch, sh and ck, and finally whole sentences with a capital letter, spaces and a period. • Column math — 2- and 3-digit addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing, column multiplication, division with remainders and mental math up to 20. Ones first, just like on paper. • Word problems — illustrated, one-step and two-step, plus "how many more?" comparisons. • Numbers — greater and less than, even and odd, doubles and halves, place value, number words and first fractions. • Telling time — read the hands of a real analog clock: hours, half hours, quarter hours and five minutes. • Money — count US coins and bills and make change. • Shapes, calendar and measurement — sides and perimeter, days and months, feet and inches, pounds and ounces, gallons and quarts (or metric units, if you prefer). • Coding and graphs — line up arrows to guide Lalo to the star, with gems and loops; read pictographs and bar graphs. HOW IT WORKS • Spaced repetition: every mistake comes back after one day, then three days, one week and three weeks. • A times-table fact counts as learned only when your child answers it right and without hesitating, on different days. Repeating it ten times in one afternoon is not enough. • Before each game, a short card explains the idea and what to do, with a worked example. • Mistakes are always gentle: the right answer is shown and explained, never a scolding. In times tables and column math, the Show me button walks through the steps one by one. • No visible timer, ever. Short sessions of 5-10 minutes, perfect after school. LALO'S CONTINENT These educational games turn into a journey: a hand-drawn map with twelve worlds, one per game, each with its own name and an animal friend who greets your child with a voice. In every world your child earns three flags (bronze, silver and gold) by really learning, not by piling up points. Meanwhile Lalo grows, levels up and wears the accessories won in the worlds. In evening mode the grid notebook turns into a green chalkboard. FOR PARENTS • A PIN-protected parent area, behind a check only an adult can pass • A progress map for every game: see at a glance what has been learned • An activity chart of the last 7 days • The spelling words to review and the times tables in progress • Choose a female or male voice FREE TO TRY Lalo Academy is a free download, and the Numbers and Times tables games are free with no limits. A single one-time purchase unlocks the other ten educational games for good: no subscription, no ads, no account to create. We collect no personal data, and the app works offline (internet is needed only for the purchase). Lalo Academy speaks 17 languages. Times tables, spelling, math, time and money games for kids from 1st to 3rd grade, five minutes a day.
