About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

A quick thought. A daily list. Your next big idea. Give them a place of their own. Hold My Papers is a private notes app for iPhone and iPad that combines everyday simplicity with useful writing tools, beautiful themes, and backups you control. Open a note and start writing. Your changes save automatically on your device, even offline. No account. No subscription. No ads. No tracking. YOUR NOTES STAY YOURS Your writing is stored locally. Hold My Papers does not collect your notes, track your activity, or use third-party analytics. There is no built-in cloud sync. You decide what to export, where to save a backup, and what to share. For added privacy, choose biometric access or a separate app passcode. A Privacy Shield conceals your workspace when the app moves into the background. MAKE IT FEEL LIKE YOU Find your favorite look among 32 themes, with independent choices for Light and Dark appearance. Personalize fonts, text size, text color, and editor zoom. Choose colors for Tags, date labels, and status markers. Complete the look with one of 71 app icon options, including colorful designs and OLED Black backgrounds. From a quiet page to a colorful workspace, make your notes feel at home. START SIMPLE. ADD WHAT YOU NEED. A shopping list can stay a shopping list. A bigger idea has room to grow. • Give your writing structure with headings. • Add emphasis with bold, italic, and underline. • Turn plans into checklists. • Bring in photos, links, and file attachments. • Crop and resize photos while preserving the originals. • Add footnotes without interrupting the main text. • Jump between sections with Outline. • Switch between formatted Markdown and editable source. A PLACE FOR EVERY IDEA Each note is called a Paper. Group related Papers into Books, leave others loose, and connect ideas across your library with Tags and subtags. Keep favorite notes close with Shortcuts. Pick up where you left off through Recents. Mark notes as Needs Review, In Progress, or Ready for Now to make your next step easier to see. Search titles and writing, jump to a matching passage, or narrow results to photos, links, and unfinished tasks. You can also search within an individual note. BACK UP YOUR WORK. KEEP CONTROL. Create verified library backups and save them through Files to a destination you choose. Restore your notes, Books, Tags, photos, attachments, and library organization—including status markers, Shortcuts, and Recents. History lets you inspect recorded changes and available snapshots. Recovery copies offer another way to retrieve saved content. Deleted notes go to The Basket, where eligible items can be restored. Complete Backup also archives History and Recovery copies for safekeeping. Library restore brings back your library and its organization; it does not import those extra records or The Basket. YOUR WRITING, BEYOND THE APP Bring in TXT, Markdown, and TextBundle documents, or turn a folder of supported notes into a Book. Export text or Markdown, create text-only PDFs, or print your writing. Use TextBundle to package a note with its photos and attachments. Apple Shortcuts actions let you create a note, open one, or append text. LIGHTWEIGHT IN SPIRIT. FLEXIBLE BY DESIGN. A focused, native notes app with no sign-up steps or subscription to manage. Use the basics for everyday notes and reach for the extra tools when you need them. A note about local storage: keep a backup outside the app in case your device or app data is lost. App Access protects viewing inside the app; it does not add encryption to notes, backups, or exports. Save and share files only to destinations you trust. Open a Paper. Make room for your next thought.
