About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

FolkDanceQ is a music and video player built for folk dance practice and dance circles. Songs, videos and dance notes (PDF) live in one library, so the dance you want is always a tap away. ■ Dance Session Mode A dedicated screen for club nights and practices. Like a classic portable music player, it has only a display and a click wheel. ・Your playlist in order, with a check mark on every song you have played ・When a song ends, the next one is selected and waits, so you can teach the dance before pressing play ・While playing, the play button glows softly so you always know what to press next ・An in-app volume bar, and the screen stays on during the session ・Request Dancing: slide the session away, play any song for a request, and come back with one tap on the green strip ・Log the songs you played and save the list to the Files app ■ Pick a dance from the map Tap a region on the world map (Japan, USA, Latin America, Nordic, Central / Western / Southern / Eastern Europe, Balkan, Asia) and only that region's dances are listed. Narrow further with country chips. Long-press a song to set its region and country in two taps. ■ Mark sections and start on time Mark Intro / A / B… in a song and jump there with one tap. Section letters appear on the waveform, and dragging snaps to them. A pre-roll run-up and an optional beep make it easy to start dancing on the beat. Play, pause and choose the next section from your Apple Watch, or from a Bluetooth controller in keyboard mode. ■ Import a whole folder, check before importing Choose a workshop folder and FolkDanceQ finds the audio in every folder inside it. Before anything is added, you see how many new dances, additions and unreadable files there are; nothing changes until you tap Import. Recordings with the same title are grouped into one dance, and you choose the default audio. ■ Videos, PDFs and notes Replay the last few seconds of a video with the Q button. Save the spots you are learning with Remember Q and bring them back later. Attach dance notes (PDF) to a song and write on them by hand. Every song has a note you can type, handwrite or dictate. ■ Made for groups Folders for workshops and events, playlists for the order of a practice session, AirDrop sharing of a whole folder, and full library backup and restore. ■ Simple pricing Free for up to 20 songs with every feature included. Only if you want more, buy FolkDanceQ Pro, a one-time purchase. No subscription. ■ Devices iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Works with VoiceOver. Please respect copyright for music and the image rights of people in videos, and use the app within your own circle. User guide: https://poor.boy.jp/bonbokohamburg/folkdanceq/en/
