About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Any video, as your webcam. Vimera adds Vimera Camera to your Mac: a camera that shows whatever you play in Vimera. Pick it in a video call, a browser or a recording app, the way you'd pick a USB webcam. Play a video on a loop, bring a live stream into a meeting, or send your OBS scene straight into the call. Vimera lives in your menu bar. Choose what to play, turn the camera on, and select Vimera Camera in the app you're using. That's all. VIDEO FILES • MP4, MOV and anything else QuickTime plays, including HEVC and ProRes • Plays on a loop, scaled and timed to the resolution the call asks for • Hardware decoding, so even 4K sources barely touch the CPU • Mirror the picture with one switch LIVE STREAMS • HLS (.m3u8), RTSP, SRT and direct HTTP video links • Reconnects on its own if the stream drops • Deinterlaces broadcast TV and IPTV streams • Live stats: protocol, buffer and bitrate at a glance RTMP SERVER • A built-in RTMP server for OBS, Ecamm or any other encoder: your scenes, overlays and titles go straight into the call • Copy the server URL and stream key with one click • An incoming stream takes over the camera. When it stops, Vimera goes back to your file or stream • The stream key is enforced: encoders with the wrong key are refused • Listens on this Mac only, or on your network if you choose A REAL CAMERA • A modern macOS camera extension, so every app sees it, browsers included • 1080p or 720p, at 24, 25, 30 or 60 fps • Decoding, scaling and mirroring run on the GPU, natively on Apple silicon and Intel • Turn the camera off and the call shows a clean "camera is off" card instead of a frozen picture ALWAYS ONE CLICK AWAY • Turn the camera on or off, switch source and check the picture from the menu bar • The menu bar icon shows what's on air • See which apps are using the camera right now • Open Vimera at login, so the camera is ready for your first call PRIVATE • No account, no analytics, no tracking • Your videos and streams stay on your Mac, except for what you send into your calls • Vimera only connects to the streams you enter, and only accepts encoders with your key SOUND, IF YOU WANT IT Vimera works on its own for video. To carry the video's sound into your calls too, add the free Vimera Audio microphone driver from vimera.app. REQUIREMENTS • macOS 15 Sequoia or later • Allow the camera extension once, in System Settings, when Vimera asks
