About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Banner turns your Apple TV into a big, beautiful sign, and your iPhone or iPad into the remote that runs it. Welcome guests at the door, surprise someone on their birthday, announce that dinner's ready, or keep a ticker running in the shop window. Write your message, choose a template, tap send. It appears full screen on your TV in seconds. HOW IT WORKS Banner is two apps that work together. Install Banner on your Apple TV and on your iPhone or iPad, connect both to the same Wi-Fi network, and they find each other automatically. No account, no sign-up, no cloud. Messages travel directly between your devices. DESIGNED FOR THE BIG SCREEN • Typographic templates made to be read from across the room • Themed colour and gradient backgrounds • Photo backgrounds using your own pictures • A scrolling, news-style ticker for running messages • Saved banners you can send again in a tap FREE • Starter templates to try Banner out • Send messages straight to your Apple TV PERSONAL • The full celebration template collection • Custom colours and photo backgrounds • Message history • No watermark PRO • Everything in Personal • Motion effects: fade, scroll, typewriter, pulse and Ken Burns • The ticker and premium templates • More lines of text and advanced display options Both upgrades are one-time purchases, shared across your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Buy once and they're yours. No subscription, no recurring charges. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Banner doesn't collect personal data, track you or show ads. Your messages never leave your home network. REQUIREMENTS Requires an Apple TV with Banner installed, on the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad. Banner will ask for Local Network access so it can find your Apple TV. OLED-friendly: content shifts subtly over time to help prevent screen burn-in, so banners can stay up for hours
