About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Know what you caught. Remember where. Make every fishing trip part of your story. AnglerDex is a fish identifier, fishing log and catch map for anglers. Identify fish from a photo, record your catches, build your species collection and connect with a fishing community that shares your passion. WHAT FISH IS THIS? Turn a catch photo into a new discovery. Use photo identification to help put a name to the fish in front of you, then explore your next addition to the collection. Looking for a fish identification app after an unfamiliar catch? Start with a photo. AnglerDex brings a fish scanner and species reference together, so your discovery can become part of your fishing story. • Identify fish from photos. • Browse an illustrated fish species guide. • Keep track of the species you have discovered. EVERY CATCH. ON THE MAP. Build a fishing map from your own catches. See where you have fished, revisit memorable waters and keep your favourite fishing spots close at hand. Your catch map is a record of your own fishing activity. Use it alongside your saved places to remember where you caught fish and which waters you want to revisit. • View your catches and catch counts on the map. • Save fishing locations with useful notes. • Record directions, parking details and which bank you fished. • Return to the places you want to fish again. CLIMB THE RANKS Give your next trip a new goal. Compare your progress with other anglers and see how your catches measure up. • Explore leaderboards for heaviest fish, longest fish and most species. • Track your personal bests. • Challenge yourself to discover another species. FIND YOUR FISHING CREW A great catch deserves a good audience. Follow fellow anglers, see their latest catches and share the moments that make fishing worth it. • Share catch photos with the fishing community. • Follow anglers and keep up with their fishing adventures. • Like and comment on catches. GROW YOUR FISH COLLECTION Give every new species a place in your personal field journal. Explore the fish guide, watch your collection grow and find inspiration for your next fishing trip. • Browse species by name and use filters to explore. • Discover freshwater and saltwater fish. • See your progress as you add new species. REMEMBER EVERY CATCH Keep a fishing journal you will actually want to look back through. Save the photo, the measurements and the details behind the catch. Use your fishing logbook as a catch tracker, photo diary and record of the details that are easy to forget. Before another trip, look back at previous catches and the tackle and techniques you noted. • Log fish species, weight, length and date. • Browse your catch history in one place. • Record the lure, rod and line you used. • Add notes so you remember what worked. KEEP YOUR GEAR IN ORDER Organise your tackle alongside your fishing memories. Build a tackle inventory that makes sense to you, from a favourite bass lure to your trout fishing setup. Keep the names, photos and notes together instead of trying to remember every piece of gear. • Keep records of rods, reels, lines, hooks and lures. • Add gear photos and notes. • Remember the setups you want to use again. FISH WITH CONFIDENCE Build your knowledge with short fishing lessons and a practical angler's handbook. New to angling? Work through the basics at your own pace, one short lesson at a time. • Learn fishing basics, tackle and knots. • Explore casting techniques and reading the water. • Learn about bait, lure, fly and saltwater fishing. YOUR FISHING LIFE, IN ONE PLACE Whether you enjoy freshwater fishing, sea fishing or discovering new species, keep your catches, fishing spots, tackle and learning together. Start with fish ID, then build a record of the places, people and discoveries that make each trip yours.
