ONA is an AI chat assistant you can ask anything, in your own words. • Ask by text or voice: learn something new, plan, translate, or get emails and messages drafted. • ONA's own AI (the open-source Qwen3 4B model) downloads once over Wi-Fi on devices with 8 GB of memory or more (about 2.3 GB) and then runs fully on your device, without the internet. • While it's being prepared, devices with Apple Intelligence turned on answer with Apple's on-device model. • Knowledge answers come with a Wikipedia summary and a link to the source. • Get weather and news results with visible sources. • Get directions and open them in Apple Maps. • Talk with ONA hands-free and pick the voice you like; voices are generated on your device. • Review text from a photo you select, processed on your device. • Switch between 12 languages and receive replies in your selected language. • Choose whether conversation history is stored on your device. Open-ended chat needs a device with 8 GB of memory or more, or Apple Intelligence. On other devices ONA answers knowledge questions with sources. The iPhone and iPad app includes Widget support. On a compatible Apple Watch, you can ask short questions and view today's steps after granting permission. ONA never completes actions such as sending a message, opening a route or sharing data without your explicit approval. Answers can contain mistakes; verify important information.
