About this app
The developer's US App Store description, in full.
Browse and manage files with two independent panes, Finder-style columns, recursive folder sizes, and photo EXIF details — built for Mac power users. TreeDeck is a native macOS file browser built for people who move, sort, and inspect files all day and want more control than Finder gives them. Inspired by dual-pane classics like ForkLift and the dense, column-oriented feel of Xcode, TreeDeck puts two independent panes side by side — each with its own history, path, selection, search, and folder picker — so you can work between two locations without constantly backing out of folders. KEY FEATURES Dual-Pane Workflow Optional dual-pane layout, on by default, with fully independent navigation in each pane Multi-select files and folders, then Copy, Cut, Paste, or move to Trash Copy or move selections directly to the opposite pane Standard ⌘C, ⌘X, ⌘V, ⌘A, and ⌘Delete shortcuts, plus native multi-file drag-and-drop (drag to move locally, Option-drag to copy) An optional Transfer Deck staging shelf for collecting files from either pane before committing a copy or move Built for Power Users Selectable, Finder-style columns configurable in Settings Optional recursive folder sizes, calculated on demand from the View Options menu Optional Windows-style "Folders Always First" sorting Column order and widths persist across sorting, refreshes, panes, and app launches Hidden-file toggle, Reveal in Finder, Copy Path, and native file opening An optional persistent Favorites bar for folders, drives, and virtual locations Every mounted internal, external, disk-image, and network volume shown right in each pane's Locations bar Four Ways to Look at Your Files Independent Details, compact List, Small Icons, and Large Icons views in each pane Asynchronous photo thumbnails so large folders stay responsive Background directory and metadata loading keeps the window responsive on large or slow volumes Event-driven live updates for the folders you're viewing, without constant polling Photos, Without Digging Through the Library Package Your Photos library appears as its own virtual location, showing actual photos and videos with thumbnails, sizes, and EXIF columns — without exposing or risking the internal library package Photo columns for dimensions plus EXIF date, camera, aperture, ISO, and focal length Automatic refresh when your Photos library changes Library-safe by design: TreeDeck can't write to or corrupt the Photos database package Optional Movie & TV Matching Confirmation-based movie matching through Wikidata and TV/episode matching through TVmaze, triggered only when you ask for it TreeDeck cleans the filename locally and sends only the resulting search terms — never full file paths, file contents, or unrelated metadata Review and confirm the match before anything is renamed Privacy by Design No analytics, no advertising, no account required, no third-party tracking SDKs File contents, paths, and Photos data never leave your Mac Online lookups happen only when you explicitly request them, and only send the minimal search terms needed TreeDeck is built entirely for macOS, runs inside the App Sandbox, and asks for access only to the folders and drives you choose to grant it.
