About this app
The developer's US App Store description, in full.
macOS remembers exactly one thing you copied. Clipbin remembers the last two hundred, keeps them in the menu bar, and lets you search them without leaving the app you are in. Free, open source, and there is no account, no subscription and no sync. CLIPBOARD HISTORY Keep the last 20, 50, 100 or 200 copies — your choice. A copied screenshot costs kilobytes of memory rather than megabytes, because the full image sits on disk and only a small thumbnail stays in memory. History is cleared every time Clipbin launches, so nothing quietly accumulates for months. A PERMANENT VAULT The Vault is the list that survives. Bookmark a row, or drag anything onto the menu-bar icon — a selection, a file from the Finder, an image from a web page — and it stays until you delete it. Vault items are unlimited and do not count against the history limit. SEARCH FROM ANY APP Control-Shift-Space opens a search panel over whatever is on screen. Type to narrow the list, arrow keys to move, Return to copy and get out of the way. Control-Shift-V opens the history in the menu bar instead. Both shortcuts can be changed to whatever you prefer. PASSWORDS STAY OUT Clipbin honours the nspasteboard.org convention, so any copy your password manager marks as concealed is skipped before anything is written to memory or to disk. This is on by default. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR MAC Clipbin contains no networking code whatsoever. There is no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party code in the app. Everything it keeps stays inside its own sandbox container, and deleting Clipbin removes all of it. FINDABLE FROM SPOTLIGHT Optionally add Vault items — never the history — to the Spotlight index, so Command-Space finds a saved snippet and Return copies it. EVERYTHING DRAGS OUT Text leaves as text and images leave as real files, so the app you drop into receives an image rather than a path. NO EXTRA PERMISSIONS The global shortcuts are registered with the system directly rather than by watching your keyboard, so macOS never asks you for Accessibility or Input Monitoring access. Clipbin has no Dock icon and no main window. It is one icon in the menu bar, and it stays out of the way until you need it. The complete source code is public at github.com/labs-conceptmates/clipbin
