Find the work you are giving away. Stop Working for Free helps freelancers, consultants, tradespeople and small businesses understand how much unpaid client work they are actually performing. Track calls, meetings, revisions, travel, quoting, support and administration. Classify each activity clearly, assign it to a client or project, and see the value of work that falls outside the agreed scope. SEE THE REAL COST OF CLIENT WORK Start a live timer or add work retrospectively. Apply your hourly rate and classify the activity as: • Billable • Included in the agreed price • Goodwill • Unpaid and outside scope • Awaiting approval • Internal work Only genuinely unpaid, out-of-scope work contributes to the headline unpaid-work figure. TRACK BY CLIENT AND PROJECT Create clients, organise activities into projects and see where your time is going. Review: • Total time recorded • Unpaid work value • Billable work • Included time • Goodwill • Work awaiting classification • Activity by client • Activity by project • Weekly and monthly totals RUN A SEVEN-DAY WORK AUDIT Track everything for one week before changing how you work.
