Know how much canvas and thread to buy before you start stitching. Needle-Calc is a focused planning calculator made for painted needlepoint projects. Calculate your canvas cut, stitch count, estimated thread length, and the number of skeins or cards needed for every color—all without an account, ads, or a subscription. CANVAS SIZE CALCULATOR • Enter your design dimensions in inches or centimeters • Choose 10, 12, 13, 14, 18, or a custom mesh count • Add finishing, framing, ornament, or pillow margins • See the final canvas cut, stitch grid, total stitches, and area THREAD ESTIMATOR • Estimate by area, coverage percentage, or stitch count • Adjust for tent, basketweave, continental, or custom stitches • Plan wool, cotton floss, silk, metallic, or custom fibers • Include a configurable allowance for waste and dye-lot safety • Convert yards and meters automatically PLAN EACH COLOR • Add multiple color areas to one project • Save brand, color number, fiber, stitch, and package length • Enter what you already own • See exactly how many skeins or cards remain to buy SHOP WITH A CLEAR LIST • Combine matching brand and color entries • Export a clean shopping list as text, CSV, or PDF • Keep notes for dye lots, substitutions, and finishing PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your projects stay on your device. Needle-Calc has no account, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Core calculations work completely offline. Thread use varies with stitch choice, tension, fiber construction, starting and ending technique, and the individual stitcher. Needle-Calc provides transparent planning estimates, not guaranteed material quantities. Every result shows its assumptions and lets you add a safety allowance. Buy once. Plan every needlepoint project.
