About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Make your own crossword puzzle from your own words — for a classroom, a vocabulary review, a party, a baby shower or a birthday card. Crossly fits your words into an interlocking grid and gives you a printable puzzle with an answer key. Type each word with its clue, tap Make Puzzle, and Crossly builds the grid, numbers it and lays out the Across and Down clues on a two-page PDF. • YOUR WORDS, YOUR CLUES — 2 to 20 words, 2 to 15 letters each, every one with its own clue. Add an optional title for the top of the page. • AUTOMATIC INTERLOCKING GRID — Crossly searches for a layout where every word crosses another, with no accidental extra words. If your list can't interlock, it tells you so you can add words that share letters. • PUZZLE + ANSWER KEY — page 1 is the blank numbered grid with the clues; page 2 is the same grid filled in, labeled as the answer key. • CLEAN PRINTABLE LAYOUT — US Letter page with the grid on top and Across and Down clues in two columns underneath. • PRINT, SHARE OR SAVE — send the PDF to your printer, share it, or save it to Files. • TRY THE SAMPLE — load a sample word list to see how it works before typing your own. Honest scope: Crossly makes one puzzle from the words you type — it doesn't suggest words or write clues for you. Words use letters only (spaces and punctuation are removed). Long clues wrap onto extra lines; if all the clues can't fit on the page, Crossly asks you to shorten some rather than cutting them off. The puzzle is made on your iPhone — nothing is uploaded and no account is needed. Try it free — 3 puzzles. A one-time $4.99 purchase unlocks unlimited puzzles. No subscription, no ads.
