About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Golden Ratio Overlay floats a composition guide over anything on your screen - your photo editor, design tool, video app, or browser - so you can compose against the grid you actually want. Built for one reason: most editors can't rotate or flip their built-in overlays. This one can. Every guide supports all eight orientations; rotate in 90-degree steps or flip horizontally and vertically with one click. GUIDES • Rule of Thirds: 3x3 equal grid • Phi Grid: golden-proportion grid (1 : 0.618 : 1) • Golden Spiral: Fibonacci spiral with its golden-rectangle subdivisions • Golden Diagonals: corner diagonals and their reciprocals • Harmonic Armature: the classic 14-line armature • Center Cross: centered midlines FAST FROM THE KEYBOARD • Global shortcuts for every overlay action: show or hide, cycle guides, flip, rotate, and lock - they work while any app is in front • Remap every shortcut in Settings, or clear the ones you don't need • Hold Option while the overlay is locked to move or resize it; release and it snaps back to click-through • Open at login so your guides are always one keystroke away MADE TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY • Lives in the menu bar; no Dock icon, no windows to manage • Floats above every app, including full-screen ones, without ever stealing focus • Lock mode makes the overlay click-through so you keep editing beneath it • Drag to move, grab a handle to resize; hold Shift to keep the aspect ratio, Option to resize from center • Six line colors with a contrast understroke that stays readable on any image • Remembers your guide, color, position, and orientation between launches PRIVATE BY DESIGN No data collection, no analytics, no network access. The complete source code is public on GitHub.
