About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Grandma at the Tobacco Shop is a quiet reading app built around old-fashioned household wisdom. There are no complicated menus and no noisy timeline. The screen shows a nostalgic little shopfront, and a piece of wisdom appears slowly in white typewriter-style text. When one message ends, the app takes a short breath, then moves on to the next one. The app includes 10,000 pieces of Japanese-style everyday wisdom. Topics include cooking, food storage, cleaning, laundry, health habits, saving money, seasonal customs, skincare, gardening, insect prevention, manners, relationships, parenting, home safety, proverbs, and traditional sayings. Some tips are practical. Some are gentle reminders. Some are the kind of thing you might hear from an older family member while they sit behind the counter and watch the day pass by. This app is not designed for fast searching. It is designed for slow discovery. Open it when you want a quiet moment. Leave it running while you relax. Pause when a line catches your attention. Move to the next message when you are ready. You can go back, go forward, pause, or let the app choose a random piece of wisdom for you.
