MDraft is a local AI workflow workspace built on Markdown. MDraft helps developers, writers, researchers, and AI practitioners organize the Markdown files that power modern AI workflows: AGENTS.md files, Claude instructions, Gemini instructions, Cursor rules, Copilot instructions, Windsurf rules, prompts, research notes, specs, and reusable context documents. Instead of managing AI workflow files across Finder, editor tabs, scattered folders, and copy/paste history, MDraft gives you one native macOS workspace for discovering, editing, searching, validating, and reusing them. Built for AI workflow files Add a Source Folder to the AI Context sidebar — your projects directory, a repo, wherever your AI configuration lives — and MDraft discovers the common AI context files inside it: - AGENTS.md - CLAUDE.md - GEMINI.md - SKILL.md - Cursor rules - Copilot instructions - Windsurf rules Files are grouped by kind, searchable, and updated live as they change on disk. Each Source Folder is a security-scoped bookmark — MDraft never reads outside folders you explicitly add. Prompt Library Save reusable prompts, system instructions, research briefs, and workflow templates locally. Use variables like {{document}}, {{audience}}, and {{constraints}}, then fill them in when copying or inserting the prompt. Semantic Search Search by meaning, not just keywords. MDraft uses Apple's local language technology to find related notes, prompts, specs, and instruction files even when you do not remember the exact wording. No cloud indexing. No API keys. No external AI service. Instruction File Validation Lint AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, GEMINI.md, SKILL.md, Cursor rules, Copilot instructions, and Windsurf rules. Checks for: - Missing required sections - Unresolved placeholders - Empty or unclear bodies - Ambiguous instructions - Contradictions - Weak constraints - Hallucination-prone wording Deterministic checks run locally. AI-assisted checks are available on supported Macs with Apple Intelligence. On-Device AI Assistance On supported Macs, optional AI tools powered by Apple Intelligence: - Summarize a document or selection - Extract metadata - Generate tags - Compress text to a token budget - Validate prompts and instruction files Your documents are not sent to MDraft servers. There are no external AI APIs. Context Bundles Export selected open Markdown documents into a deterministic context bundle for long-context LLM workflows, repo handoffs, or AI-agent context injection. Bundles include a manifest, stable ordering, explicit file boundaries, and portable UTF-8 output. Web Import Import web pages as clean Markdown. MDraft extracts readable content, saves images to a local assets folder, rewrites image paths, and adds provenance frontmatter. Refresh from Source can re-fetch a page and show what changed.
