About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

PortFree turns port numbers into ready-to-copy Terminal commands, so you can spend less time looking up syntax and more time building. Enter a TCP port, choose an action, and copy the command. Paste it into Terminal when you are ready to run it. THREE CLEAR ACTIONS • Inspect: generate an lsof command to identify listening processes. • End process: generate a SIGTERM command to request a normal exit. • Force end: generate a SIGKILL command for a process that will not stop normally. BUILT FOR EVERYDAY DEVELOPMENT • Quick presets for ports 3000, 5173, 8000, 8080, 8081, and 9000. • Enter up to 32 ports, separated by commas or spaces. • Review the full command before copying. • Copy with one click or Shift-Command-C. • Return to recently copied ports during your session. • Generate commands from a compact menu bar panel. • Works with the standard tools included with macOS and commands tested in zsh and bash. YOU CHOOSE WHEN TO RUN PortFree is a command generator. It does not scan your Mac, run shell commands, or terminate processes inside the app. You review and execute the copied command in Terminal. End commands list the target PIDs and ask for confirmation before sending a signal. Force ending a process can discard unsaved work; inspect the target first. Commands use your current user permissions and do not include sudo. PRIVATE AND LOCAL No account, advertising, tracking, analytics, or network access. Port input and recent items stay in the current app session. PortFree writes a command to the clipboard only when you choose Copy. Requires macOS 14 or later.
