About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Zoom Reader is a magnifier camera for reading text that's too far away to read with the naked eye - right where you're standing. Station timetables, whiteboards across a lecture hall, notices on a bulletin board, price tags, ingredient labels - anywhere you can't get close enough, up to 100x zoom helps you read it clearly. WHEN IT HELPS - Checking a departure board or timetable from across the platform - Reading slides from the back row of a lecture or seminar - Photographing a bulletin board notice to read later - Enlarging small print on labels or instructions KEY FEATURES - Up to 100x zoom, with a dial and preset buttons styled after Apple's own Camera app for quick changes - Video stabilization for a steadier, more readable image at high zoom - iPad support: the same controls on a bigger screen, as a universal app - Freeze frame: pause the view, then pinch to zoom and pan for a closer look - Save photos and record video with a single tap - High-contrast and color-invert display modes for easier reading - Flashlight toggle for dim environments - Minimap: see at a glance where you're looking within the full frame at high zoom - Tap to lock focus and exposure NOTE ON LENS SUPPORT On models without a telephoto lens, zoom beyond about 25x is applied digitally, so the image stops looking noticeably sharper past that point. For clear detail at higher zoom levels, a telephoto-equipped model (iPhone Pro / Pro Max) gives the best results. ACCESSIBILITY Fully compatible with VoiceOver. Every control has a spoken label, and the current zoom level is announced as well. PRIVACY Photos and videos you capture are saved only to your device's photo library and are never sent anywhere else.
