About this app

The developer's US App Store description, in full.

Is your classroom too loud? Transform noise into focus with Ampelino. Ampelino is the professional-grade noise traffic light designed specifically for educators. Whether you are managing a lively primary school class or a high school study session, Ampelino provides instant, visual feedback that helps students self-regulate their volume. Built with a high-precision AVAudioEngine and A-weighting filter, Ampelino offers the accuracy of a dedicated decibel meter with the simplicity of a classroom tool. WHY TEACHERS CHOOSE AMPELINO Unlike cluttered or "toy-like" noise apps, Ampelino is built for the modern classroom. It combines a sleek, distraction-free interface with powerful features like AirPlay support and biometric locks to keep you in total control. CORE FEATURES FOR CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT - The Traffic Light System: A real-time 3-light indicator (Green/Yellow/Red). The 3-second moving average ensures the light doesn't flicker on every small sound, providing a fair and stable measurement. - External Display & AirPlay: Project the noise light onto your whiteboard via HDMI or AirPlay. Includes a dedicated "Presentation Mode" with high-contrast themes for maximum visibility from the back of the room. - Integrated Learning Timer: A customizable 5–120 minute countdown timer to manage tasks. It features a two-tone visual ring for long durations, helping students track time at a glance. - Reward & Score System: Track "Quiet Time" (Green) vs. "Loud Time" (Red). Use the score counter to gamify classroom behavior and reward students for staying within the limits. - Teacher-Proof Security: Protect your thresholds and settings with Face ID, Touch ID, or Passcode. No more students "accidentally" changing the sensitivity! - 3 Custom Presets: Instantly switch between "Quiet Study," "Group Work," and "Testing" modes. Save your favorite decibel thresholds and load them with a single tap. TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE Calibrated Accuracy: Manual microphone offset (0-60 dB) to ensure consistency across different iPhones and iPads. Background Listening: Keep measuring noise levels even when the device is locked while connected to an external display. Accessibility: Fully localized in 16 languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, and more. ADAPTABLE FOR EVERY GRADE For Primary Schools: Enable the "Smiley Face" feedback for a friendly, encouraging visual cue. For Secondary Schools: Use the "Clock View" and sleek minimalist themes for a professional look that older students respect. Bring a culture of quiet, focused learning to your school.
